Jr Android Developer

Job Description

Looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Junior Android Developer to join our mobile application development team. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–2 years of experience in native Android application development who are eager to build modern, user-friendly, and high-performing mobile applications. As a Junior Android Developer, you will work closely with senior developers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and Solution Architects to develop new features, enhance application functionality, and resolve bugs while following Android development best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Implement new features based on functional and technical requirements.
  • Design and build responsive user interfaces using XML and Jetpack Compose.
  • Ensure applications adhere to Material Design guidelines for a consistent and intuitive user experience.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to integrate APIs, third-party libraries, and backend services.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application bugs and performance issues.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Test applications across different Android devices and screen sizes to ensure compatibility.
  • Stay updated with the latest Android development tools, frameworks, and best practices.

Pre Requisites:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin programming.
  • Strong understanding of Material Design principles and Android UI/UX guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience developing user interfaces using XML and/or Jetpack Compose.
  • Basic understanding of Android SDK, Activity and Fragment lifecycle, and Jetpack components.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and backend integration.
  • Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
  • Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in B.E./B.Tech, MCA, BCA, or Graduation from a recognized university.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience in native Android application development.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of MVVM architecture.
  • Exposure to dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Android testing frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to team success.
